Our Mission
Health education that speaks your language — culturally and literally.
Habesha Health's mission is to improve health awareness and access for Habesha communities around the world. We provide culturally relevant health education, resources, and conversations that help our community feel informed, empowered, and confident in managing their health.
We envision a future where every Habesha individual has access to trusted health information, culturally competent care, and the confidence to advocate for their health and the health of their families.
Our Story
Habesha Health began as the Habesha Women's Health Expo — an in-person health symposium in San Francisco created by Habesha women who recognized that many felt shy or afraid when speaking with healthcare providers due to cultural and language barriers. In August 2020, we relaunched as a virtual platform to make health education accessible to Habesha communities everywhere.
